Helen graduated from Huddersfield University in 1984 and  was awarded the Michael Kruszynski prize for outstanding progress 1983/84 gaining her masters degree in performance in 1994. Helen went on to become head of music at St Peter & St Pauls Chesterfield and SLP College in Leeds.
 
Not only does she teach piano, flute, saxophone, clarinet, singing, keyboards, music theory and musical theatre, Helen is a lecturer, arranges and scores for vocals and full bands, she is also very much at home in the recording studio having co-produced many instrumental and vocal albums.
 
She has done recitals as a  pianist, flautist and singer. 

She was Artistic Director for Greenway Musical Theatre Group 1984-2002, Musical Director for Chesterfield Operatic Society 2001-2006 producing and directing both musical Theatre and Opera.

She is a lover of local festivals and is very keen that RMC students take part whenever possible.
 
Helen is also the director and musical director of the RMC Theatre Company, now in its tenth successful year.
